Gorphenwyd medd Tywysog nen

"Gorphenwyd!"
    medd Tywysog nen,
Ac ar y groes gogwydda'i ben;
  "Gorphenwyd," do, yr yrfa'n awr -
  Enillodd Iesu'r frwydr fawr.

"Gorphenwyd!" -
    mwy adseiniwn ni,
O angeu! p'le mae'th golyn di?
  A'th fuddugoliaeth dithau, 'r bedd?
  Fe'ch maeddwyd gan Dywysog hedd.

"Gorphenwyd!" - hedeg wnelo'r sôn
Trwy'r byd i gludo
    clod i'r Oen:
  "Gorphenwyd!" -
      aed yr adsain gref
  Trwy uffern,
      daear faith a'r nef.

"It is finished!"
    said the Prince of heaven,
And on the cross he bowed his head;
  "It is finished," yes, the course now -
  Jesus won the great battle.

"It is finished!" -
    let us resound evermore,
O death! where is thy sting?
  And thy victory, O grave?
  Ye are beaten by the Prince of peace.

"It is finished!" - may the sound fly
Throughout the world to convey
    praise to the Lamb:
  "It is finished!" -
      let the strong echo go
  Throughout hell,
      the vast earth and heaven.

'Tis finished;
    so the Saviour cried,
And meekly bowed his head and died:
  'Tis finished; yes, the work is done,
  The battle fought, the victory won.

'Tis finished:
     heaven is reconciled,
And all the powers of darkness spoiled:
  Peace, love, and happiness again
  Return and dwell with sinful men.

'Tis finished: let the joyful sound
Be heard through
    all the nations round:
  'Tis finished:
      let the echo fly
  Through heaven and hell,
      through earth and sky.
